In this case Christoffer Relander, graphic designer and self-taught photographer from Finland (as he describes himself), created a series of multiple exposure photographs for the new charity campaign, Children With Tumours;
The campaign helps children with Neurofibromatosis by giving them the life of any normal young child through summer camps. Under the campaign line titled, ‘I am more‘, it celebrates the freedom the charity gives these strong, young individuals.
Relander combines Human beauty and Nature to help this kind of patients.
Neourofibromatosis or Von Reklinghausen’s desease is a genetic disorder that causes tumors to grow in the nervous system and produce other abnormalities such as skin changes and bone deformities that can lead to complications that include blindness, scoliosis and severe disfigurement that may cause cosmetic and psychological issues.
The surgical treatments are not meant to cure the disease but rather to correct severe deformities. Plastic and Reconstrucitve Surgery can help them improve their lives in some way.
