A few words about furniture inspired by the human body. This stool by Ramon Ubeda is really worth to be reported. Already the name ‘Cul’ (sounds similar to bottom in spanish ) wants to be linked to Cool: Cul is cool. Originally made of EPP, expanded polypropylene a plastic, now made of polyurethane and in a range of colours, gloss white, red and black. It is so versatile that a number of photographers have immortalized it, each time in a different context.
The stool assumes different meanings when taken in the arms of a beautiful girl, used as decoration for outdoors, left alone in a room with a dog or just sitting next to a modern pin-up. A little like plastic surgery: it’s the context that creates the sense: An anatomical unit such as a nose, breasts, a mouth have to be evaluated-analyzed taking into account the whole body.
