Look at Kumi Yamashita’s artwork. She sculpts shadow with light or sometimes light with shadow. She takes objects and carves and places them in relation to a single light source.
The complete artwork is therefore comprised of both the material (the solid objects) and the immaterial (the light or shadow).
How easy would it be for a Plastic Surgeon to change a face profile by modeling it like a piece of paper!
