Most of Gabi Trinkaus’s works are obtained from women’s magazines cuttings and used as collages.
All models are put together creatively and give life to new bodies and faces through a patchwork of eyes, lips, nostrils, hair, and ears- with everyone’s and nobody’s features.
Harmonious homogenous compositions that mute into works of art with accurately chosen newspaper fragments even if made up of a heterogenous micro-mosaic. Beautiful ecological works of art. Ponderation comes naturally: how handy would it be for a surgeon to have such lagniappe of “pieces” ?
Unfortunately, such is not the case! Reconstruction is a very delicate and complicated operation! The surgeon cannot cut and paste like Trinkaus!
